How exact age is calculated
Calculating exact age is more complex than it appears. Our calculator accounts for leap years (which occur every 4 years, with exceptions every 100 and 400 years) and differences in month lengths (28 to 31 days). The result shows your age broken down into exact years, months, and days, plus statistics like total days and weeks lived.
In different cultures, age is calculated differently. In most Western countries, age is counted from birth (starting at 0). In South Korea, traditionally you were born at 1 year old and a year was added every January 1, although since 2023 they adopted the international system. Our tool uses the standard Western system.

Does it count leap years?
Yes, the calculator takes all leap years into account. If you were born on February 29, your birthday will be calculated correctly considering that this date only exists every 4 years.
What is the average age of the world population?
The median age of the world population is approximately 30 years. However, it varies enormously by region: in Africa it is about 19 years, while in Europe it exceeds 42 years. Global life expectancy is approximately 73 years.
Can I calculate someone else's age?
Of course. You just need to know that person's date of birth. Enter it in the corresponding field and get their exact age, days lived, and how long until their next birthday.
